Beverages - Star Trek - Tranya

Tranya

Tranya was an orange to pink-colored beverage originating from the First Federation, usually served very cold.
It was first introduced to the United Federation of Planets in 2266, when Balok served it to officers of the USS Enterprise. (TOS: "The Corbomite Maneuver")
Tranya would later be a major export of the First Federation. Curzon Dax was particularly fond of the drink, and it was stocked in Quark's on Deep Space 9. (DS9: "Facets")

Background:
The tranya that Balok served the crew was, in fact, grapefruit juice, which young Clint Howard absolutely hated. He said in an interview that he had to work very hard at making it look like he actually liked it. (TOS Season 1 DVD special features)
"The Comedy Central Roast of William Shatner" implied that tranya could be an addictive beverage and that Balok had developed a bit of a drinking problem.

Beverages - Star Trek - Cardassian Kanar "Noir"

Chef’s Cardassian Kanar “Noir” (Black)

Kanar was a Cardassian alcoholic beverage, that varied in color and somewhat thick in consistency compared to most Human drinks.
On board the USS Enterprise-D, Glinn Daro told Chief Miles O'Brien that kanar "takes some getting used to." (TNG: "The Wounded")
When Elim Garak's cranial implant began to malfunction in 2370, he began to drink an excessive quantity of kanar in an attempt to mimic the implant's numbing effect using the alcohol. (DS9: "The Wire")
Shortly after the Klingon invasion of the Cardassian Union in 2372, Quark had 80 cases of kanar in his stockroom. Quark gave a bottle of it to Garak "on the house" because he did not foresee ever selling it in his bar again. (DS9: "The Way of the Warrior")
Damar was fond of indulging in kanar. Quark used it to great success as the inebriated Damar revealed that the Bajoran minefield was about to be brought down. (DS9: "Behind the Lines") Later, he often drank to excess during his humiliating tenure as head of the Cardassian Unionin 2374-2375. (DS9: "The Changing Face of Evil")
Weyoun deeply disliked kanar, while Damar thought that he shouldn't trust a Cardassian who did not enjoy a glass of kanar every once in awhile. (DS9: "Image in the Sand")
Although not stated directly, there were several types of kanar. In TNG: "The Wounded" it appeared to be a light purple, transparent drink served in very small glasses.
In DS9: "The Maquis, Part II" it was seen as the thick, black drink in characteristic bottles seen in many DS9 episodes.
Then, in DS9: "The Wire" it was a blue, opaque drink in a different kind of bottle.
In DS9: "The Way of the Warrior", it appeared differently again, this time it was an orange, opaque liquid, but served in the characteristic kanar bottles. After that, it finally changed back to the black, thick liquid seen for the first time in "The Maquis, Part II".
According to an interview with Casey Biggs (Damar), Karo syrup was used for brown kanar to create the effect of a dark, thick liquid, which he actually drank. Property Master Joe Longo joked in an issue of Star Trek: The Magazine (Issue 4) that "... he was drinking so much he was getting weird, so we started using a thickened sugar-free pancake syrup."
A Kanar bottle was among the items that were sold off on the It's A Wrap! sale and auction on eBay.

Nothing starts your day of valorous rampaging like a hit of the "Death Dealer" Raktajino. Infamous throughout the alpha quadrant as the coffee with a kick, it's renown has led to a multitude of variations. I picked this recipe up from a freighter captain traveling the Archanis Sector.

Ingredients
1 Hershey Dark Chocolate Bar (43grams)

1/2 cup dark cocoa
Dash cinnamon (to taste)
Pinch of nutmeg
2 shots Espresso (use the Starbucks Double Shot can if you can't find any good espresso)

Procedure:
Break up the chocolate bar into meltable pieces.
In a saucepan, add the espresso, chocolate bar and cocoa over medium heat and stir until the chocolate is melted.
Add remainng ingredients.
Simmer over medium-low until ingredients are well blended , stir periodically (do not boil!)
The consistency should be thick and almost syrup like.
Serve immediately in the hollowed out skull of your vanquished enemy
